Welcome to the Louisiana Society for Human Resource Management (LASHRM)
Thank you for visiting!
The Louisiana Society for Human Resource Management (LASHRM) under the general guidance of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is responsible for conducting the affairs of the professional organization throughout the state of Louisiana. LASHRM represents and is comprised of eleven local chapters in New Orleans, Houma, Baton Rouge, Covington, Alexandria, Shreveport, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Monroe, Ruston and our newest chartered chapter in Natchitoches. LASHRM has adopted SHRM's stated goal of advancing the human resource professional and serving the professional.
LASHRM'S Mission is to be the recognized leader in the field of human resource management in the State of Louisiana by working with local SHRM chapters in the state by:
- Developing and providing high quality educational programs, seminars and conferences on HR issues.
- Promoting professional excellence in the field of Human Resource Management and the recognition of that excellence through professional certification.
- Serving as the voice of the profession on HR issues by communication and coordinating matters of mutual interest to SHRM chapters and members to other parties such as governmental bodies, learning institutions, private industry and the general public.
Like most volunteer leaders, I first became involved with SHRM by volunteering with my local chapter several years ago. In my experience, involvement in this organization provides for the development of knowledge and skills, but also the establishment of invaluable and rewarding relationships with colleagues and others in the business community. I am deeply honored to serve the profession as the Louisiana State Council Director for 2007-2009.
