We are proud to support over 2,000 human resource professionals who are either member s of one of our SHRM chapters or at-large SHRM members in our state. Founded in 1948, SHRM represents more than 250,000 individual members in over 125 countries, and has a network of more than 575 affiliated chapters in the United States, as well as offices in China and India. LASHRM has adopted the goals of SHRM by advancing the human resource professional and serving the profession.

Our Mission

To be the recognized leader in the field of Human Resource management in the State of Louisiana by:

  • Developing and providing high quality educational programs, seminars, and conferences on HR issues.
  • Promoting professional excellence in the field of Human Resource Management and the recognition of the excellence through professional certification.
  • Serving as the voice of the profession on HR issues by communication and coordinating matters of mutual interest to SHRM chapters and members to other parties such as governmental bodies, learning institutions, private industry, and the general public.
Twenty-nine years ago I became involved with SHRM to increase my knowledge of Human Resource issues. I became a member of a local chapter and found a wealth of information to assist me with my goals as well as making valuable contacts with mentors and peers who I have relied on throughout the years. Even in these uncertain and turbulent economic times, no matter where I go professionally, I know that I can count on my relationships with professional colleagues in the Louisiana business community as well as across our fine nation for guidance and support. This website is here to serve you, I hope that you find the information that you seek, please let us know if that is not the case so that we can continue to serve the profession and advance the professional.
